Der Reisende

Based on the novel by Ulrich Alexander Boschwitz

Berlin 9th November 1938

In the aftermath of the Nazi progroms, Jewish businessman Otto Silberman is on the run, desperately trying to get out of Germany.

He constantly switches trains and has dangerous encounters on his journey.

The Passenger is based on historic fiction, but it connects contemporary audiences to the exile experience of refugees in our time.

With an immersive set, video and sound design featuring impactful binaural technology, audiences are given the impression that they themselves are embarking on the dangerous journey.

The Passenger was presented at the Stiftung Exilmuseum in Berlin in the autumn of 2023 and at the Manchester Jewish Museum in 2022.
